Hypermobility
One of the biggest friends to a yoga teacher is their playlist. A lot of instructors, at least in my personal experience, don’t take their playlist seriously enough. Recently, I was at a class where Taylor Swift was played during Savasana, when we’re supposed to be sinking into our internal state even further. Lyrics + Savasana = a very fine line to balance upon.
Now, I do have one song that I play during Savasana, but it’s a very smooth song by Sia literally called Breathe Me. It offers a crescendo, which can engage the ADHD brain (those who struggle with Savasana the most), but it also has a very steady beat across the whole song that allows people to sink into.
And that’s the kind of intention that should be put into a playlist.
